Abstract Objective To analyze the polymorphism of MTHFR gene in patients with hypertension, and to explore the relationship between H-type hypertension and metabolic biochemical indexes such as homocysteine (Hcy). Methods 100 patients with H-type hypertension and 100 patients with general hypertension treated in our hospital from July 2013 to June 2016 were selected as study subjects.Plasma homocysteine (Hcy) and blood lipids, blood glucose and other biochemical indicators were detected in two groups, and the polymorphism of MTHFR gene was compared. Results Hcy,uric acid (UA),creatinine (Cr) level in the H-type hypertension group were significantly higher than those in the general hypertension group (t=14.989,6.672,4.832,P<0.05).The frequency distribution of MTHFR 677C/T genotype frequency of the H-type hypertension group was mainly T allele, and the frequency distribution of C allele was dominant in the general hypertension group (P<0.05).Conclusion The level of Hcy,UA and Cr are closely related to the occurrence of H-type hypertension.Homozygous mutant TT genotype of MTHFR gene 677C/T may be an important genetic factor of H-type hypertension.
