Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Shuanghuanglian Granules combined with Ceftazidime in the treatment of children with acute upper respiratory tract infection. Methods A total of 80 children with acute upper respiratory tract infection treated in Ruichang People′s Hospital from January 2019 to July 2020 were selected as subjects.According to the random number table method, they were divided into two groups, with 40 cases in each group. Children in the two groups were given routine treatment, the control group was given Ceftazidime for treatment on the basis of routine treatment, and the observation group was given Shuanghuanglian Granules combined with Ceftazidime on the basis of conventional treatment. The levels of inflammatory markers (C-reactive protein [CRP], interleukin-6 [IL-6], interleukin-10 [IL-10]) were compared between the two groups before treatment and 4 days after treatment. The improvement time of symptoms (cough, wheezing, lung rales, fever) between the two groups was compared. The total incidence of adverse reactions (nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, abdominal pain and dizziness) was compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there were no significant differences in serum levels of CRP, IL-6 and IL-10 between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of CRP and IL-6 in both groups were lower than those before treatment, and the levels of IL-10 in both groups were higher than those before treatment, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The levels of CRP and IL-6 in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the level of IL-10 in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, with statistical significances (P<0.05). The disappearance time of cough, wheezing, lung rales and fever abatement time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). During the treatment, the total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 12.50%, while that in the control group was 7.50%. There was no statistical significance in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Shuanghuanglian Granules combined with Ceftazidime in the treatment of acute upper respiratory infection has a significant effect, can improve the inflammatory state of children, shorten the time for symptom improvement, worthy of clinical application
