Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression level of long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)-LY86-AS1 in glioma and its relationship with clinical characteristics and prognosis. Methods Glioma specimens and adjacent normal brain tissues of 67 patients with glioma who underwent surgical treatment in the Binzhou Medical University Hospital from June 2012 to December 2014 were collected.R-language gene chip analysis technology was used to identify differentially expressed lncRNA.Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR)was used to detect the difference of lncRNA-LY86-AS1 expression in glioma samples and normal brain tissue adjacent to glioma, and χ2-square test was used to analyze the relationship between the expression level of lncRNA-LY86-AS1 and the clinical characteristics and prognosis of glioma. Results The lncRNA-LY86-AS1 was differentially expressed in gliomas.Compared with normal brain tissue samples adjacent to the tumor, the expression of lncRNA-LY86-AS1 in glioma samples was downregulated, and it was related to glioma classification(P<0.05).The expression level of lncRNA-LY86-AS1 showed statistical differences with WHO grading,KPS score and tumor recurrence of glioma patients(P<0.05),while there was no statistical difference among gender, age and tumor size of patients(P>0.05).The prognosis of glioma patients with low expression of lncRNA-LY86-AS1 was poor. Conclusion The lncRNA-LY86-AS1 expression is down-regulated in glioma tissues and is associated with poor prognosis in glioma patients. Therefore,it is speculated that lncRNA-LY86-AS1 might be a potential therapeutic target and prognostic indicator for glioma.
