Abstract:Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), a kind of fatal infectious disease, is characterized by severe systemic immune deficiency, which may be involved gastrointestinal, cardiovascular and nervous systems, and so on.AIDS can also cause vasculitis-like changes, such as fibrinoid necrosis, inflammatory cells infiltration and thrombosis in the vascular vessels, and can lead to cerebral infarction or hemorrhage.Nonspecific clinical symptoms, which are similar to those of primary angiitis of the central nervous system (PACNS), lead to be misdiagnosed and mistreated. In this paper, a case with limb weakness of the AIDS-related cerebral vasculitis was confirmed, and the clinical symptoms and treatment process were introduced in detail. With the increasing number of human inmunodeficency virus (HIV) infections in China, the prevalence of AIDS-related cerebral infarction will increase year by year.Relevant professional doctors should pay attention to the possibility of such diseases to avoid misdiagnosis and mistreatment.
