Abstract:ObjectiveTo investigate the influence of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on the expression of Nogo-A and NgR after traumatic brain injury in rats.MethodsOne hundred SD rats(SPF grade)were selected and established as acute moderate traumatic brain injury models using Feeney′s method. The models were randomly divided into treatment group(n=20)and injury group(n=80).In the injury group,no special treatment was applied, while in the treatment group, hyperbaric oxygen was adopted after successful modeling. The differences in the expression of Nogo-A and NgR in rats 1,3,5,7 and 10 days after the trauma of rats in two groups were observed.ResultsThe expression of Nogo-A and NgR were highest in the third day after trauma in both the treatment and injury groups. The Nogo-A and NgR expression in the treatment group were all lower than those in the injury group 1,3,5,7 and 10 days after the trauma, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.01).ConclusionDown-regulation of Nogo-A and NgR expression by hyperbaric oxygen is one of the mechanisms of promoting central nerve regeneration.
