Abstract：Objective To observe the clinical effect of modified irrigator in the treatment of patients with ceruminal embolism due to stenosis of external auditory canal.Methods A total of 90 patients with ceruminal embolism due to stenosis of external auditory canal treated in our department from November 2016 to November 2017 were selected as study objects.The patients were divided into the control group (n=45)and observation group (n=45)according to the random number table method.Patients in the control group were treated with traditional washing ear bulb,while patients in the observation group were given modified irrigator.The therapeutic effect between the two groups was compared.Results The total effective rate of treatment effect in the observation group was 93.3%,which was significantly higher than that of the control group(77.8%),and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).The excellent and good rate of ear comfort in the observation group was 95.6%,which was significantly higher than that in the control group(82.2%),and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 6.7%,which was significantly lower than that in the control group(17.7%),and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion Modified irrigator in the treatment of patients with ceruminal embolism due to stenosis of external auditory canal can significantly improve the treatment effect and ear comfort,reduce the incidence of adverse reactions,and it is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
