Abstract:ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of esophageal stent implantation treating advanced esophageal cancer.MethodsThe clinical data of 82 patients with advanced esophageal cancer admitted into our hospital from January 2013 to January 2016 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment methods, they were divided into the observation group(n=41)and control group(n=41).In the control group, patients were treated with conventional chemotherapy, while in the observation group, patients were given esophageal stent implantation. The improvement of dysphagia before and after treatment, patients′polypnea index and score of nutritional status, quality of life score(SF-36),patient′s satisfaction rate for treatment, and 1 year and 2 years survival rate were compared between the two groups.ResultsBefore treatment, there was no significant difference in dysphagia between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, dysphagia was improved in both groups, and the improvement in the observation group was better than that of the control group (P<0.05).The polypnea index, score of nutritional status, and SF-36 score in the observation group were all superior to those in the control group (P<0.05).The satisfaction rate for treatment in the observation group was 97.56%,which was higher than that in the control group(80.49%).1 year and 2 years survival rate was 95.12%and 90.24%respectively,which was higher than that of the control group(78.05%and 70.73%respectively)(P<0.05).ConclusionThe effect of esophageal stent implantation treating advanced esophageal cancer is good.It can improve the dysphagia symptoms and nutritional status, improve the quality of life and the satisfaction rate for treatment in patients. It is worthy of further clinical study and application in clinic.
