Abstract：Objective To understand the application situation of Chinese patentmedicine in children patients with upper respiratory infection （URI）in pediatric outpatient department of our hospital and put forward to reasonable suggestions for using Chinese patentmedicine.Methods From October to December 2015，492 children patients with URI in the first week of these three months in our pediatric outpatient department were selected.The usage rate of Chinese patentmedicine，route of administration，drug variety and condition of drug combination in these participantswere statistically analyzed.Results The usage rate of Chinese patent medicine in pediatric outpatient department was 86.79%. There were 14 varieties of Chinese patentmedicines，the dosage forms were based on oral liquid and granula in oral administration.Drug combination of Chinese patentmedicines took 25.06%，mainly two varieties accounting for 24.12%. Conclusion The application of Chinese patentmedicine in children patients with URI in pediatric outpatient department is reasonable.
