Abstract:ObjectiveTo discuss the clinical effect of continuous negative pressure drainage in the treatment of large amount of subcutaneous effusion in the incision.MethodsFrom May 2010 to May 2016,36 patients with subcutaneous infection empyema or other reasons causing simple large effusion were divided into negative pressure ball group(n=15) and open dressing group(n=21)according to different incision treatmentmethods in our hospital.Patients in the negative pressure ball group were taken continuous negative pressure drainage treatment and in the open dressing group were used traditionalmethods of open drainage dressing treatment, healing time, dressing change times and scarwidth of two groupswere compared.ResultsTime from the negative pressure ball drainage treatment to extubation in the negative pressure ball group was 7-12 d,the average length of stay was 9 d;2-4 times of dressing change in each case;all wound healing were linear scar.Time of wound healing in the open dressing group ranged from 15 to 25 d,the average length of stay was 15 d;9 to 26 times of dressing change in each case, with an average of 15 times.Dressing change times in the negative pressure ball group was significantly less than that in the open dressing group, healing time and scar width was significantly better than that in the open dressing group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).ConclusionNegative pressure ball group are effective in shortening time of healing, reducing times of dressing change, easing pain of patients, decreasing workload of doctors, healing with litter scar and beautiful appearance,so it is worthy of clinical application.
