Abstract:ObjectiveTo compare survival and prognosis of microwave ablation combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE)and surgical resection for patients with primary hepatocellular carcinoma of BCLC-B.MethodsClinacal date of 40 patienswho were diagnosed as primary hepatocellular carcinoma of BCLC-B in the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2010 to June 2013 were retrospectively analyzed and divided intominimally invasive group and operation group according to the different treatment methods, each group of 20 cases, patients in theminimally invasive group was treated with microwave ablation combined with TACE,while patients in the operation group was treated by surgical resection, near and long-term treatment effect in two groups were compared.ResultsThe 3-year survial rates were 85%in theminimally invasive group, and 55%in the operation group, and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.04).ConclusionThe efficacy ofmicrowave ablation combined with TACE in the treatment of primary hepatocellular carcinoma of BCLC-B is affirmat, and it could be considered as the first-line treatmentmethod for patientswith primary hepatocellular carcinoma of BCLC-B.
