Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of Cetirizine Hydrochloride reduction therapy combined with Compound Glycyrrhizin on serum IgE and IL-6 levels in patients with chronic urticaria. Methods A total of 100 patients with chronic urticaria admitted to Nanhai District the Seventh People′s Hospital of Foshan City from September 2015 to December 2016 were selected as study object and divided into combined group and single group according to the random number table method,50 cases in each group,30 healthy subjects were selected as control group.Patients in the combined group were treated with Cetirizine Hydrochloride reduction therapy combined with Compound Glycyrrhizin, and patients in the single group were treated with Cetirizine Hydrochloride reduction therapy, patients of two groups were treated continuously for 6 weeks.Curative effect between the combined group and the single group, changes of serum IgE and IL-6 levels before and after treatment among three groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the combined group was 98.0%,which was significantly higher than that of the single group (86.0%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The level of IgE before treatment in the combined group and the single group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05);after treatment, the levels of IgE in the combined group and the single group was significantly lower, but which was still significantly higher than that in the control group, the level of IgE in the combined group was significantly better than that of the single group(P<0.05);compared with the control group, the levels of IL-6 before and after treatment had no significant different in the combined group and the single group (P>0.05).Conclusion Cetirizine Hydrochloride reduction therapy combined with Compound Glycyrrhizin in the treatment of chronic urticaria can significantly improve the curative effect and the serum IgE level, but there is no significant effect on serum IL-6 level,it is suggested that the level of IL-6 may not be associated with chronic urticaria.
