Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore the effect of otoacoustic emission (OAE)and automatic auditory electroencephalic response(AAEER)on the neonatal hearing screening.MethodsA total of 300 neonates in full term visited our clinic for hearing screening in our hospital from January to December 2016 were selected as research objects.According to the odd and even sequence of visiting doctors, they were evenly divided into observation group and control group in random. In the observation group, combination of OAE and AAEER was adopted, while in the control group, only OAE was used. The screening outcome between the two groups was compared.ResultsThe passing rate of hearing screening was 85.3%in the observation group, which was much lower than that in the control group accounting for 92.0%,which was displayed statistical difference (χ2=3.573,P<0.05).Accordingly,the rate of failing to pass hearing screening test was 14.7%in the observation group, which was significantly higher than that in the control group accounting for 8.0%(χ2=3.573,P<0.05).ConclusionCombination of OAE and AAEER can effectively improve accuracy rate of screening, reduce the occurrence of misdiagnose and missed diagnosis, and simultaneously provide the diagnostic basis for accurate judgment of neonatal disease location and degree in clinic.
