Abstract:Objective To comprehend the distribution characteristics of the positive results of irregular antibody screening in blood transfusion patients in Liaoyang Central Hospital, and to explore the measures to promote clinical safe and effective blood use. Methods A total of 14 235 blood transfusion patients admitted to Liaoyang Central Hospital from January 2017 to December 2020 were selected as the study subjects, and the irregular antibody screening and antibody identification results were counted, and the types and distribution characteristics of irregular antibodies were analyzed. Results The positive rate of irregular antibody screening was 0.76%(108/14235). The positive rate of female patients was higher than that of male patients, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Among them, Rh system antibody reached 93 cases at most, accounting for 86.11% (93/108). The positive rate of antibody in patients with more than 3 blood transfusions was higher than that in patients with less than 3 blood transfusions, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The positive rate of irregular antibody screening in patients with repeated blood transfusion and female patients is on the high side. Therefore, it is recommended to give Rh homotype blood transfusion to patients with repeated blood transfusion, so as to reduce the production of irregular antibody and improve the safety of blood transfusion.
