Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of condom vaginal plugging and traditional vaginal plugging on preparations before female pelvic CT examination. Methods Altogether 200 cases of married female patients who underwent vaginal plugging before pelvic CT examination in our hospital from December 2016 to March 2017 were selected as the objects of this study and randomly divided into two groups, each with 100 cases. The condoms plus gauze roll plugging method was used in the observation group, patients in the control group underwent traditional vaginal plugging with gauze rolls. The pain degree,CT imaging quality and patients′satisfaction of two groups were compared and analyzed. Results The pain degree of the patients in observation group (9%)was significantly lower than that of control group(86%),and difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).The image clarity rate of the observation group (96%)was significantly higher than that of control group(85%),difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The patients′satisfaction of the observation group(97%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(71%),and difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).Conclusion The implementation of condoms plus gauze roll plugging method before female pelvic CT examination can reduce the patients′pain degree, not easy to damage the vaginal mucosa and improve the imaging quality. At the same time, the method is simple to operate and convenient to draw materials, easy to be accepted by patients, which improves patients′satisfaction rate and is worthy of clinical application.
