Abstract：Objective To investigate the change of serum sex hormone levels and the sexual function in patients with azoospermia after microdissection testicular sperm extraction.Methods Seventy patients with azoospermia who underwent microsurgery from May 2016 to December 2017 were selected,by using the self-control method,the serum sex hormone levels and the sexual function of patients were compared before and after microdissection testicular sperm extraction.Results The luteinizing hormone (LH)and follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)levels and serum total testosterone(TT)and testosterone secretion index(TSI,TSI=TT/LH)and free testosterone index(FTI,FTI=TT/SHBG)values and international index of erectile function-5 (HEF-5)had not a significant difference compared with before operation(P＞0.05).Conclusions Microdissection testicular sperm extraction has little effect on testicular function in patients with azoospermia.
