Abstract Objective To analyze the Mycoplasma genitalium(Mg)and Chlamydia trachomatis(CT)infection in male patients with non-gonococcal urethritis(NGU)in Foshan area. Methods A total of 602 patients with non-gonococcal urethritis who were admitted to the Department of Urology,Department of Dermatology and Male Specialist Department of Nanhai District People′s Hospital of Foshan City from January 2016 to March 2019 were selected as the case group.A total of 200 healthy subjects who underwent physical examinations in the Physical Examination Center of Nanhai District People′s Hospital of Foshan City from January 2016 to March 2019 were selected as the control group. The Mg and CT nucleic acid assays of urinary tract secretions in male NGU patients and healthy subjects in Foshan area were performed by using SAT-RNA detecting technique. The infection rates of Mg and CT in the two groups were compared, and the infection rates of Mg and CT in different age groups in the case group were compared to analyze the relationship between Mg,CT infection and male NGU.Results The detection rates of Mg and CT in the case group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The infection rates of Mg and CT in the >30-40 years old group were the highest. No significant differences were observed in the distribution of Mg and CT infection in different age groups(P>0.05).According to Pearson correlation analysis, reproductive tract Mg and CT infection were positively correlated with male NGU(r=0.14,0.16, P<0.05).Conclusion Male NGU is associated with Mg and CT infection, which clinicians should pay attention to.As routine examination items for urinary tract infection,Mg and CT have important clinical significance in the detection of male NGU.
