Application of steel plate and screw internal fixation in the treatment of traumatic fracture of long tubular bone of the extremities |

Abstract Objective To analyze the application value of steel plate and screw internal fixation in the treatment of traumatic fracture of long tubular bones of the extremities.Methods A total of 86 patients with traumatic fracture of long bone of extremities admitted to 921 Hospital of Joint Logistic Support Force from October 2018 to June 2020 were selected as the research objects,they were divided into the control group and the observation group by the random number table method,with 43 cases in each group.The patients in the control group were treated with closed reduction and interlocking intramedullary nail internal fixation,while the observation group was treated with steel plate and screw internal fixation.The treatment effects,limb function score and visual analog scale(VAS)score before and after treatment,quality of life score,and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups.Results The overall response rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the limb function scores of the two groups were higher than those before treatment,and the VAS scores of the two groups were lower than those before treatment,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),the limb function scores of patients in the observation group were higher than those of the control group after treatment,VAS scores of patients in the observation group were lower than those of the control group after treatment,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of ability of daily living,social function,physiological function,mental health and other items in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total postoperative incidence of complications of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The use of steel plate and screw internal fixation in patients undergoing traumatic fracture of long tubular bone of the extremities can quickly restore the patient′s limb function,alleivate pain,improve the quality of life effectively,and the clinical treatment effect is good with few postoperative complications,which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
