Effect of rational use of blood components on the treatment and safety of blood transfusion in patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding |

Abstract Objective To observe the effect of rational use of blood components on the treatment and safety of blood transfusion in patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding.Methods A total of 54 patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding admitted to Baicheng Hospital from October 2018 to October 2020 were selected as the research objects,and they were divided into experimental group(27 cases)and control group(27 cases)using a simple randomization method.The experimental group adopted a planned blood transfusion protocol developed by the department of blood transfusion,and the control group applied for single blood transfusion treatment.The blood routine and coagulation index test results,the success rate of first hemostasis,rebleeding rate,and hospital stay were compared between the two groups.Results One hour before treatment,Comparison of blood routine and coagulation index test results between two group of patients,the differencce was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Three hours after treatment,the levels of hemoglobin(Hb),hematocrit(HCT)and platelet count(PLT)in the test group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Three hours after treatment,the prothrombin time(PT)and activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT)of the test group were shorter than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the first hemostatic success rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the rebleeding rate of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the hospital stay of the experimental group was shorter than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The rational use of blood components has a positive impact on the blood transfusion treatment of patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding.It can improve blood routine and coagulation indicators,increase the success rate of first hemostasis,reduce the rate of rebleeding,shorten the length of hospitalization,and improve safety.
