Abstract Objective To explore the application and nursing of axillary vein puncture in long-term transfusion of newborns.Methods A total of 100 newborns required more than one week of infusion in the neonatal intensive care unit of the Second People′s Hospital of Jingdezhen from January 2019 to August 2020 were selected as the research objects,and they were divided into the control group and the experimental group according to random number table method,with 50 cases in each group.The control group was given scalp and limb distal infusion,and the experimental group was given axillary vein indwelling needle infusion.The average retention time of indwelling tube,the total incidence of complications,the success rate of one-time puncture and the satisfaction of doctors were compared between the two groups.Results The indwelling time of the experimental group was longer than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05).The total incidence of complications in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05).The success rate of onetime puncture in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05).The doctor′s satisfaction after nursing in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05).Conclusion Axillary vein indwelling needle has long retention time and less complications in neonatal infusion.The success rate of one puncture is higher than that of doctor′s nursing satisfaction.
