Abstract Objective To investigate the related factors of helicobacter pylori (HP) recurrence after eradication in patients with type 2 diabetic (T2DM).Methods A total of 132 patients with type 2 diabetes who were confirmed to be Hp positive by13C urea breath test in Guangxin People′s Hospital of Shangrao City,Jiangxi Province from January 2018 to April 2019 were selected as the research subjects. All patients were negative on13C urea breath test 4 weeks after Hp eradication with standard quadruple regimen and completed the questionnaires.13C urea breath test was performed at 6 months and 12 months. The basic data of Hp positive and Hp negative patients were compared. Results The recurrence rate of HP in 132 patients was 10.61% (14/132) after 6 months of withdrawal. After 12 months of withdrawal,4 patients lost their HP due to their refusal to follow up,and the recurrence rate of HP was 13.16% (15/114).The course of disease, infection rate of other family members and HbA1c level of patients with recurrent HP were higher than those without recurrent HP,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Logistic multivariate regression analysis showed that long course of disease (β=0.487,OR=1.627,95%CI=1.453-1.823) and infection of other people in the family (β=1.088,OR=0.330,95%CI=0.161-0.673) were risk factors for Hp recurrence in T2DM patients (P<0.05).Conclusion The long course of disease and the infection of others in the family are the risk factors for the recurrence of Hp after eradication in type 2 diabetic patients. It is recommended that for patients with T2DM with a long course of disease, family members should jointly test for and eradicate HP.
