Application effect of out-of-hospital blood glucose management system in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus |

Abstract Objective To observe the applicatio effect of the out-of-hospital blood glucose management system in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods A total of 284 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus whose blood glucose control was not up to standard who visited the Outpatient Department of Weifang Endocrine and Metabolic Hospital from May to December 2019 were selected as the research subjects.They were divided into an observation group (n=146) and a control group (n=138) according to the random number table method.The patients in the control group used routine outpatient blood glucose management, while the patients in the observation group received comprehensive blood glucose management by using the out-of-hospital blood glucose management system.Fasting blood glucose (FPG), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and blood glucose monitoring frequency before intervention, after 3 and 6 months of intervention were compared between the two groups.Results After 3 and 6 months of intervention, FPG and HbA1c in the two groups were lower than those before intervention, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.01).There were no significant differences in FPG and HbA1c between the two groups after 3 and 6 months of intervention(P>0.05).There were no significant differences in FPG and HbA1c between the two groups before intervention (P>0.05).After 3 and 6 months of intervention, the FPG and HbA1c of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).After intervention for 3 or 6 months, the frequency of blood glucose monitoring in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).Conclusion Using the out-of-hospital blood glucose management system to manage the out-of-hospital blood glucose of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus can significantly improve the frequency of blood glucose monitoring and reduce the blood glucose level.
