Changes of interleukin-1β and tumor necrosis factor-α in serum of patients with intestinal obstruction before and after operation |

Abstract Objective To observe the changes of interleukin-1β(IL-1β)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in patients with intestinal obstruction treated by operation and to explore the clinical significance.Methods A total of 40 patients with intestinal obstruction who were hospitalized in the First People′s Hospital of Longnan City,Gansu Province from August 2016 to August 2018 were selected as the research objects.According to whether there was intestinal necrosis during the operation,they were divided into two groups: simple intestinal obstruction group(18 cases)and strangulated intestinal obstruction group(22 cases).The fasting peripheral venous blood was collected at the time of admission and 3 and 7 days after the operation,and the serum levels of IL-1β and TNF-α were detected by enzymelinked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results The levels of IL-1β between the two groups were compared at the time of admission,3 d after operation,and 7 d after operation,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The comparison of IL-1β between the simple intestinal obstruction group and the strangulated intestinal obstruction group at each time point was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was a statistically significant difference in the interaction between group and time in IL-1β(P<0.05).The levels of TNF-α between the two groups were compared at the time of admission,3 d after operation,and 7 d after operation,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The comparison of TNF-α between the simple intestinal obstruction group and the strangulated intestinal obstruction group at each time point was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was a statistically significant difference in the interaction between group and time in TNF-α(P<0.05).Conclusion Serum IL-1β and TNF-α in patients with intestinal obstruction decrease with the disease progression.Dynamic monitoring of postoperative IL-1β and TNF-α helps to understand the outcome of patients with intestinal obstruction and suggests that they may be intestinal early inflammatory cytokines in strangulation intestinal obstruction.
