Application study of objective structured clinical examination in the prepractice training of nursing undergraduates |

Abstract Objective To explore the application effect of objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) in the prepractice training of nursing undergraduates. Methods A total of 60 undergraduate nursing students from the School of Nursing of Hu′nan University of Chinese Medicine in 2017 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into observation group and control group according to the principle of simple random grouping, with 30 students in each group. The observation group received OSCE training before practice, and the control group received routine training before practice. The assessment results and attitudes towards assessment mode were compared in the two groups. Results The scores of nursing evaluation, clinical thinking, basic skills operation, first-aid skills operation and humanistic nursing communication in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The acceptance rate of nursing students in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, including reasonable setting of assessment structure, reflection and improvement of occupational comprehensive ability, internship position, adaptability and identity of the assessment mode, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion Setting up OSCE is conducive to improving the clinical practice ability of nursing students,better promoting nursing students to adapt to clinical working mode.
