| Effect of fiberoptic bronchoscope alveolar lavage combined with Meropenem in the treatment of severe pulmonary infection |

Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of fiberoptic bronchoscopic alveolar lavage combined with Meropenem in the treatment of severe pulmonary infection. Methods A total of 80 patients with severe pulmonary infection admitted to People′s Hospital of Kaizhou District in Chongqing City from February 2017 to May 2019 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into the control group (40 cases) and the experimental group (40 cases) according to the random number method. The control group was treated with Meropenem, the experimental group took fibrobronchoscope alveolar lavage combined with Meropenem treatment, and the clinical efficacy, lung function indexes,clinical symptom recovery time and inflammatory indexes of patients of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The maximal ventilatory volume (MMV), maximal middle expiratory flow (MMEF), and 1st second forced breathing volume/forced vital capacity (FEV1/FVC) in the experimental group were higher than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The recovery time of body temperature and cough recovery time in experimental group were shorter than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in white blood cell count (WBC) and procalcitonin (PCT)between the two groups before treatment (P>0.05). The WBC and PCT of the two groups after treament were lower than those before teatment, the differences were statistically significan (P<0.05). WBC and PCT levels in the experimental group after treatment were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Fiberoptic bronchoscopic alveolar lavage combined with Meropenem has a definite curative effect on severe pulmonary infection, effectively improves the patient′s lung function and inflammatory index, and shortens the treatment time, so it is worth popularizing and applying.
