Abstract Objective To observe the efficacy of the effective part formula of garlic (Y means garlic oil, Z means garlic saponin,D means garlic polysaccharide)on the life extension rate and anti-inflammatory of inoculated S180 mice. Methods In experiment 1, 80 male Kunming mice were divided into model group, solvent group, Cyclophosphamide group,garlic oil group, the test effective components high dose (Y+Z+D) group, secondary high dose (Y+Z+D) group, medium dose (Y+Z+D) group and low dose (Y+Z+D) group according to the random number table method, with 10 mice in each group. The survival time and life extension rate of each mouse in each group were observed and recorded after 10 days of administration of the corresponding drugs. In experiment 2, 72 Kunming mice, including 36 male mice and 36 female mice, were divided into model group, Aspirin group, high dose garlic YZD group, secondary high dose garlic YZD group, medium dose garlic YZD group and low dose garlic YZD group, with 12 mice in each group (half male and half male). The mice of above groups were given corresponding test drugs once a day for 7 days. Two hours after the last administration, the mice were killed. Each ear was cut and weighed, and the swelling degree and swelling inhibition rate were calculated. Results The results of experiment 1 showed that the survival time of animals in the high dose (Y+Z+D)group and garlic oil group was statistically significant compared with the model group (P<0.05). The survival time of animals in the high dose (Y+Z+D) group and garlic oil group was longer than that in the other groups, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The life extension rate of the high dose (Y+Z+D) group and the garlic oil group was also higher than that of the other groups. The results of experiment 2 showed that high dose garlic YZD has a certain anti-inflammatory effect. Conclusion The effective part formula of garlic (high dose of Y+Z+D) has certain anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory effect.
