Application value of magnetic resonance imaging in the preoperative evaluation of cervical cancer and endometrial cancer |

Abstract Objective To explore the application value of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the preoperative evaluation of cervical cancer and endometrial cancer.Methods From March 2017 to March 2019,50 cases of cervical cancer and 50 cases of endometrial cancer were treated in Benxi Central Hospital were selected,the preoperative MRI examinations of the patients were retrospectively analyzed.Results The surgical pathological staging of 50 cases of endometrial cancer included 31 cases of stage ⅠA,8 cases of stage ⅠB,5 cases of stage Ⅱ,1 case of stage ⅢA,2 cases of stage ⅢB,and 3 cases of stage ⅢC.The accuracy rate of MRI in the diagnosis of endometrial carcinoma was 88.00% (44/50).The surgical pathological staging of 50 cases of cervical cancer included 3 cases of stage ⅠA,27 cases of stage ⅠB1,5 cases of stage ⅠB2,2 cases of stage ⅠB3,11 cases of stage ⅡA1,and 2 cases of stage ⅡA2.The accuracy rate of MRI in the diagnosis of cervical cancer reached 90.00% (45/50).MRI examination of endometrial cancer patients with stage ⅠA showed endometrial thickening,less than 1/2 muscle layer infiltration and intact junction zone.MRI examination of stage ⅠB patients showed that there was thickening in endometrial,infiltration of >1/2 of the muscle layer occurs,the junction zone was visible but the display was not clear,and the invaded part did not reach the uterine serosal layer.MRI examination of stage Ⅱpatients showed that the tumor had affected the cervical stroma but had not exceeded uterine range.MRI sagittal view of stage Ⅲpatients showed that the tumor involved the whole layer of uterus to the serosa layer,no vaginal or parametrial involvement was found,and enlarged lymph nodes were seen beside the left iliac vessels.Cervical cancer patients with stage ⅠB1 and ⅠB2 stage MRI showed that thetumor lesions were confined to the cervix,and the largest diameter of the lesion was less than 4 cm.MRI of patients with stage ⅡA1 and ⅡA2 showed that the tumor lesions exceeded the cervix,but still did not reach the pelvic wall or lower vagina 1/3 sites,the maximum diameter of the lesion ≤4 cm.Conclusion MRI examination method plays an important role in the preoperative evaluation of cervical cancer and endometrial cancer.However,MRI examination is still insufficient in the diagnosis of lymph node metastasis in patients with cervical cancer and endometrial cancer,exploratory research is still needed.
