| Application of Jiyu Decoction in bone graft fusion after removal of nucleus pulposus in lumbar disc herniation |

Abstract Objective To explore the clinical application value of Jiyu Decoction in bone graft fusion after removal of nucleus pulposus in lumbar disc herniation.Methods A total of 80 patients with lumbar disc herniation treated in our hospital from January 2018 to March 2019 were selected as the research subjects.They were divided into observation group (40 cases) and control group (40 cases) according to the random number table method.In the control group, internal fixation of bone graft fusion and removal of nucleus pulposus was used, while in the observation group, Jiyu Decoction was added on the basis of the control group.They were followed up for 6 months.The American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) scores of the lower limbs of the two groups were compared and the quality of life (QOL) scores before and after treatment were recorded.The bone mineral density, bone calcitonin, and bone graft fusion of the two groups were observed.Results After 6 months of treatment, the motor and sensory function scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).After treatment,the QOL scores of the two groups were higher than those before the treatment, and the QOL score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).After 6 months of treatment, the bone mineral density and bone calcitonin level in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).The proportions of bone graft fusion in the observation group were higher than those in the control group at 1 and 6 months after operation, and the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05).Conclusion For the bone graft fusion and removal of nucleus pulposus in lumbar disc herniation, combined with Jiyu Decoction after operation, it can effectively improve the functional recovery of the lower limbs and the living ability, and promote bone healing.
