Abstract Myocardial infarction is a common cardiovascular disease characterized by a high incidence and a poor prognosis.Studies have shown that the severe cardiac complications are associated with the prognosis of myocardial infarction,and cardiac arrest is one of the serious complications.At present,there are limited treatment approaches for cardiac arrest,and these patients are associated with a poor prognosis and a high mortality.This article presented a case:appling extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO)and intra-aortic balloon pump(IABP)to successfully treat a patient with cardiac arrest following the large areas of acute myocardial infarction,so as to provide a reliable reference for patients with severe heart disease such as myocardial infarction complicated with cardiac arrest.
