| Effect of diabetes mellitus nursing clinic on health education for operative patients |

Abstract Objective To explore the effect of diabetes mellitus(DM)nursing clinic on health education for operative patients.Methods A total of 184 DM patients undergone surgery admitted to our hospital from June 2016 to June 2017 were enrolled in the study.They were divided into control group and observation group according to the random number table method,92 cases in each group.In the control group,health education in regular clinic was implemented,while in the observation group,health education was implemented at the DM specialist clinic.The blood glucose index,treatment compliance,health knowledge mastery,and adverse events were compared between the two groups at discharge and one year follow-up.Results The blood glucose levels including fasting blood glucose(FBG),postprandial 2 h blood glucose(2 h PG),and glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c)in the two groups were lower than those at discharge(P＜0.05）.The blood glucose indices including FBG,2 h PG,and HbA1c in the observation group were lower than those in the control group one year follow-up after surgery(P＜0.05）.The patients′treatment compliance including rational diet,exercise therapy,on-time medication,disease monitoring,and regular review,and health knowledge mastery including disease knowledge mastery degree,medication mastery,and knowledge on disposal of adverse events in the observation group were all higher than those in the control group (P＜0.05）.The total incidence of adverse events was lower in the observation group than in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05）.Conclusion The DM nursing specialist clinic can improve the health education effect in DM patients undergone surgery and it is worthy of clinical promotion.
