Abstract Objective To compare the effect of thoracoscopic surgery in primary hospitals and small incision surgery under the axilla in the treatment of pulmonary bullae.Methods A total of 86 cases of pulmonary bullae in the Department of General Thoracic Surgery of People′s Hospital of Linyi Economic and Technical Development District,Shandong Province,from November 2006 to November 2017 were selected as the research objects.According to the odd and even number grouping method,they were divided into the experimental group and the contrast group,43 cases in each group.The experimental group was treated with thoracoscopic surgery,and the contrast group was treated with small incision surgery under axillary fossa.The operation time,the amount of bleeding,the retention time of the chest tube,the time of hospitalization,the pain degree score (VAS)and the recrudescence of pneumothorax of the two groups were compared.Results The operative time of the patients in the experimental group was shorter than that in the contrast group,with significant difference (P＜0.05).The amount of intraoperative bleeding in the experimental group was less than that in the contrast group,with significant difference (P＜0.05).The retention time of the chest tube in the experimental group was shorter than that in the contrast group,with significant difference (P＜0.05).The time of hospitalization in the experimental group was shorter than that in the contrast group,the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).The VAS score of the experimental group was lower than that of the contrast group,with significant difference(P＜0.05).The recurrence rate of pneumothorax in the experimental group was lower than that in the contrast group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion The results of thoracoscopic surgery in primary hospitals in the treatment of pulmonary bullae are significant,and the wounds are small,which can reduce the recurrence rate.It is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
