Investigation and analysis of the incidence of metabolic syndrome and its related risk factors in outpatients with schizophrenia |

Abstract Objective Toexplore the incidence and risk factorsof metabolic syndrome(MS)in outpatients with schizophrenia.MethodsThere were212 casesof schizophrenia diagnosed in the Third People′s Hospital of Meizhou City from March to October 2017 were selected,and 212 patients with schizophrenia were diagnosed according to ICD-10.Results There were 197 patients were collected,the response rate was 92.3%,and 25.4%(50/197)patients had MS.Under the condition of entering levelα=0.05 and excluding levelβ=0.10,two classification Logistic regression analysis was carried out.MS was set as dependent variable,demographic basic data and clinical data were set as independent variables.The results of Logistic regression showed that the higher level the FBG and SBP get,the higher prevalence MS had,while the higher the education level and HDL-C,the lower the prevalence of MS.Conclusion About 1/4 of outpa tients with schizophrenia have MS.In addition,high FBG,high SBP,low educational background and low(HDL-C)may be the causes of MSin outpatients with schizophrenia.Furthermore,MSis the risk fator for,cardiovascular disease.
