Application of CT multi-directional scanning in carpometacarpal joint trauma |

Abstract Objective To analyze the application effect of CT multi-directional scanning in carpometacarpal joint trauma.Methods 52 patients with carpometacarpal joint trauma who were admitted to our hospital from March 2014 to July 2016 were selected as the research subjects.Multiple X-ray and CT examinations(cross-sectional,coronal,sagittal,etc.)were provided,and the application effects of the two examination methods were analyzed.Results Of the 52 patients with carpometacarpal joint trauma,66 fractures and 6 instabilities/dislocations were diagnosed;the rate of definite diagnosis of fractures,instability,and dislocation detected by CT was higher than that of X-ray,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);there was no statistically significant difference in the rate of definite diagnosis of axial scan fractures between the two examinations(P>0.05).However,the diagnostic accuracy and missed diagnosis rate of fractures by quasi-coronal scan,and quasi-sagittal scan,as well as the diagnosis rate of instability/dislocation by axial scan,quasicoronal scan,and quasi-sagittal scan were more accurate than those by X-rays,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion During the CT scans on carpometacarpal joint trauma,CT quasi-coronal scan,and quasisagittal scan should be performed on the basis of the cross-sectional scan.All-round examination of the anatomical relationship between the various bones of the wrist is performed to improve the detection rate of minor fractures/dislocations and thus provide important reference data for clinicians.
