Effects of tea oil combined with Montmorillonite Powder and Vitamin C in the treatment of oral ulcer induced by paraquat poisoning |

Abstract Objective To observe and evaluate the efficacy of tea oil combined with Montmorillonite Powder and Vitamin C in the treatment of oral ulcer induced by paraquat poisoning,so as to provide a safe,effective and satisfactory oral care method for patients orally taking PQ.Methods A total of 40 patients with acute paraquat poisoning who were hospitalized in our department from January 2014 to December 2017 were collected.In accordance with the principle of randomized control,they were divided into experimental group and control group,20 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were routinely given Qingkou mouth rinses every morning and evening to maintain oral hygiene.In the experimental group,on the basis of the control group,10 to 20 ml of tea oil combined with 5 g of Montmorillonite Powder puls 5 g of Vitamin C were ground into powder,mixed into a paste to apply on local ulcer and cover the ulcer surface,3 times per day.Water and food should be avoided after 30 minutes of medication.The course of treatment for observation was 5 days.The therapeutic effects were observed and the safety was analyzed in both groups.Results There was no significant difference in the severity and time of oral ulcer between the two groups(P>0.05).The difference was not statistically significant.The pain relief time and healing time of oral ulcer in the experimental group were significantly shorter than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.01).Conclusion The efficacy of tea oil combined with Montmorillonite Powder and Vitamin C in the treatment of oral ulcer induced by paraquat poisoning is significant,which alleviates the physical and mental pain of hospitalized patients with PQ,reduces the occurrence of complications,and meanwhile improves the quality of life of patients.It is worthy of promotion.
