| Clinical effect comparison of low-approach microscopic varicocelectomy and open laparoscopic varicocelectomy in the treatment of varicocele |

Abstract ObjectiveTo compare and analyze the clinical effect of low-approach microscopic varicocelectomy(L-MV)and open laparoscopic varicocelectomy(LV)in the treatment of varicocele.Methods From February 2014 to January 2016,60 patients with varicocele admitted to our hospital were enrolled in this study.According to different therapeutic methods,they were divided into research group(n=30)and control group(n=30).In the control group,LV was used,while in the research group,L-MV was adopted.The sperm quality improvement,average hospital stay,recurrence rate,and incidence of complications were compared in the two groups.Results In the research group,the sperm count,sperm concentration,sperm survival rate were(42.85±3.58)×106,(25.01±3.15)×106/ml and(65.02±4.57)%,which were superior to those in the control group[(36.22±4.17)×106,(21.54±3.54)×106/ml and(56.04±4.25)%](all P＜0.05).The average hospital stay was(2.52±0.47)d in the research group,was lesser than that of the control group[(4.58±1.01)d](P＜0.05).The recurrence rate and incidence of complications in the research group were 3.33%and 3.33%respectively,both lower compared with those in the control group(20.00%,23.33%)，the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion After comparison，the effect of L-MV is better for patients with varicocele,which can improve the quality of sperm,shorten hospital stay,and reduce the recurrence rate as well as the incidence of complications in high safety and good prognosis.It is worthy of application and promotion in clinical practice.
