Clinnal effect of the single arm adjustable bracket with Kirschner wire for minimally invasive treatment of distal tibial fractures |

Abstract Objective To evaluate clinical effect of the single arm adjustable bracket with Kirschner wire for minimally invasive treatment of distal tibial fractures(DTF).Methods 94 patients with DTF treated in our hospital from September 2012 to September 2015 were divided into control group and observation group according to the different treatment methods,47 cases in each group.The control group was treated with traditional open reduction and plate fixation,the observation group was adopted minimally invasive treatment with the single arm adjustable bracket with Kirschner wire. The therapeutic effects of two groups were compared.Results The operation time,incision length,the bleeding after releasing tourniquet,hospitalization time and healing time of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group.The Kofoed score at 12 months after operation was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05). The Johner-Wruhs excellent rate of the observation group was significantly higher than the control group(91.49%vs. 72.34%,P<0.05),and the complication rate was significantly lower than that of the control group(6.38%vs.23.40%,P<0.05).Conclusion Curative effect of the single arm adjustable bracket with Kirschner wire for minimally invasive treatment of DTF is sure,with characteristic of less trauma,postoperative recovery fast,less complications,which is worthy of recommendation.
