Effect analysis of ultrasonic elastography and conventional ultrasound in the diagnosis of benign/malignant thyroid nodules |

Abstract ObjectiveTo analyze the effect of ultrasonic elastography and conventional ultrasound in the diagnosis of benign/malignant thyroid nodules.MethodsFrom October 2013 to October 2016,imaging data of ultrasonic elastography and conventional ultrasound from 93 patients(126 nodules)with space-occupying lesion of thyroids testified by pathology in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed.Set outcome of histopathology by surgery as gold standard,the accuracy of the two methods diagnosing the benign/malignant thyroid nodules.ResultsAmong 126 thyroid nodules,benign ones were 108 cases(85.71%),and malignant ones were 18(14.29%).The sensitivity,specificity and accuracy of ultrasonic elastography diagnosis were 82.41%,77.78%and 81.75%respectively,which was higher than that in the conventional ultrasound accounting for 74.07%,66.67%and 79.36%in turn (P<0.05).The sensitivity,specificity and accuracy of ultrasonic elastography combined with conventional ultrasound were 93.52%,83.33%,92.06%respectively,which was superior to either of them (P<0.05).ConclusionIn the differential diagnosis of benign/malignant thyroid nodules,ultrasonic elastography is better than that by conventional ultrasound.The combination can effectively improve the diagnostic accordance rate.
