Abstract ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical efficacy of Narcotrend monitoring in elderly patients under general anesthesia.MethodsFrom January 2014 to December 2016,120 old patients who received general anesthesia in our hospital were selected and divided into group N(n=60)and group C(n=60)by taking random number table method. The propofol TCI concentration was regulated and controlled according to Narcotrend regulation of N group, the propofol TCI concentration was regulated and controlled according to the patient′s BP,HR and other vital signs of group C.The anesthesia time, operation time, recovery time, extubation time,PACU stay time after anesthesia, drug dosage and the incidence rate of adverse reaction were compared between the two groups.ResultsThe recovery time, extubation time and PACU stay time after anesthesia in group N was significantly shorter than that in group C,with significant difference (P<0.05). The dosage of narcotic drugs in group N was significantly less than that in group C,with significant difference(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence rate of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).ConclusionThe implementation of Narcotrend monitoring in the elderly patients with general anesthesia can reduce the use of anesthesia, promote postoperative recovery of consciousness.
