Abstract ObjectiveTo explore the clinical effect of combination traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of herpes zoster.MethodsA retrospective analysis of 82 cases of herpes zoster whoreceived:treatment from January 2013 to December 2016 in department of dermatology of our hospital,according to the different treatment methods,all patients were divided into the control group (42 cases)and the observation group (40 cases).The control group was given antiretroviral therapy,neurotrophic therapy,analgesic therapy or glucocorticoid therapy according to individual condition.The observation group was given traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation,proprietary Chinese medicine treatment or external drug treatment on the basis of Western medicine treatment.The clinical effects of the two groups was compared.ResultsThe total effective rate of the observation group was 97.50%,which was higher than 80.95% of the control group,with significant difference(P<0.05).The analgesic time,the stopping time of blister,the time of complete scab and the time of complete extinction of the lesions in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group, with significant difference(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence rate of post traumatic neuralgia, hospitalization time and hospitalization expenses between the two groups(P>0.05).ConclusionThe effect of combination traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of herpes zoster is better than that of Western medicine,and it is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
