Abstract Objective To explore the application effect of standardized nursing in the treatment of pediatric patients with venous indwelling needle puncture and negative pressure drainage. Methods A total of 50 pediatric patients with scalp hematoma admitted to the Department of Pediatric Surgery,Jiujiang Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 2018 to August 2023 were selected as the study objects retrospectively. They were divided into observation group (25 cases)and control group(25 cases)according to different nursing methods. The observation group was treated with standardized nursing procedures, while the control group was treated with routine nursing. The quality of care, time for scalp hematoma disappearance, hospital stay, and hospital expenses were compared between the two groups. Results The nursing quality score of the observation group was higher nursing quality score than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The disappearance time of scalp hematoma and hospitalization time of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group, the hospitalization expenses of the observation group were less than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Providing standardized nursing procedures while using intravenous indwelling needle puncture and negative pressure drainage to treat pediatric scalp hematoma can effectively reduce the occurrence of complications and improve treatment effectiveness, which is worthy of research and promotion.
