Effect of combining medical and nursing care model on elderly patients after hip replacement

Abstract  
Objective To explore the application effect of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)nursing model based on the combination of medical care and nursing care in elderly patients after hip replacement surgery.Methods A convenience sample of 63 patients who underwent hip replacement surgery in the joint surgery department of Foshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from April 2021 to April 2022 was selected as the control group,and 64 patients who underwent hip replacement surgery from May 2022 to May 2023 were selected as the observation group.The control group received routine rehabilitation nursing training after surgery,while the observation group received a TCM rehabilitation nursing program based on the combination of medical care and nursing care on top of the control group.After 1 and 3 months of intervention,the hip joint function,agoraphobia,and daily activity ability scores of both groups were evaluated.Results After 1 and 3 months of intervention,the hip joint function score,agoraphobia score,and daily activity ability score of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The traditional Chinese medicine nursing mode based on the combination of medical and nursing can improve the hip function level of elderly patients after hip replacement and reduce the level of kinetophobia,which worthy of clinical promotion.
