Abstract Objective To investigate the effects of pharmaceutical service intervention on the effectiveness, safety, and economy of medication administration in patients with type 2 diabetes nephropathy. Methods A total of 60 patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy admitted to Department of Pharmacy of Huizhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March 2022 to March 2023 were selected as research objects. They were divided into control group (n=30)and intervention group (n=30) according to random number table method.Fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin level, medication compliance, incidence of adverse reactions and drug cost were compared between the two groups. Results The levels of fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial blood glucose and glycated hemoglobin in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Medication compliance in the intervention group was better than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the intervention group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The medication cost in the intervention group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion After patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy participate in pharmaceutical service intervention through pharmacists, drug efficacy is improved, the incidence of adverse drug reactions or events is decreased, patients'compliance is improved, and drug treatment costs are reduced.
