Abstract ObjectiveTo explore the effect of ureteroscopic pneumatic lithotripsy in the treatment of lower ureteral calculi under local and epidural anesthesia.MethodsAltogether 150 patients with lower ureteral calculi who were hospitalized in our hospital from March 2014 to February 2015 were involved as the object of this research,all patients were treated with ureteroscopic pneumatic lithotripsy and averagely divided into the observation group and the control group according to the simple randomization,with 75 patients in each group.The observation group was administered with local anesthesia,the control group was administered with epidural anesthesia.The hospitalization time,hospitalization expenses and the incidence rate of complications of the two groups were observed.ResultsThere was no significant difference in the operation time between the two groups(P＞0.05).The hospitalization time of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group,and the hospitalization expense of the observation group was less than that of the control group,with significant difference (P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the operation success rate,the stone clearance rate and the incidence rate of complication between the two groups (P＞0.05).ConclusionThe effect of ureteroscopic pneumatic lithotripsy in the treatment of lower ureteral calculi under local anesthesia is significant,the hospitalization time is short,and it is an effective and economical new clinical technology,which is worthy of promotion and popularizing.
