Abstract Objective To explore the application effects of psychological resilience support combined with cognitive nursing on patients with schizophrenia complicated with insomnia. Methods A total of 60 patients with schizophrenia complicated with insomnia who were treated in Shangrao Third People′s Hospital between January 2020 and December 2021 were selected as the study subjects, and they were divided into the control group(n=30)and the observation group (n=30) according to the random number table method. Routine nursing was performed on both groups, and cognitive nursing on the basis of routine nursing was given to the control group, while psychological resilience support nursing on the basis of the control group was adopted in the observation group. The sleep quality, mental state, quality of life and total nursing satisfaction of patients before and after intervention were compared between the two groups. Results After intervention, the scores of Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) and insomnia severity index (ISI) in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The scores of dimensions of brief psychiatric rating scale (BPRS) in the observation group after intervention were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After intervention, the scores of aspects of quality of life in the observation group were higher than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The nursing satisfaction of the observation group was higher than of the control group after intervention, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Psychological resilience support combined with cognitive nursing can effectively improve the sleep quality, mental state and quality of life, and can also enhance the nursing satisfaction of patients.
