Abstract  Objective To investigate the clinical effect of breast conserving surgery and modified radical mastectomy in patients with early breast cancer and their influence of quality of life. Methods A total of 80 patients with early breast cancer admitted and diagnosed in the third People′s Hospital of Jiujiang City in Jiangxi Province from January to December 2019 were selected as the subjects for prospective analysis. They were divided into the observation group (40 cases) and the control group (40 cases) according to the random number table method. Breast conserving surgery was used in the observation group, and modified radical mastectomy was used in the control group. The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, hospitalization time, patients′ satisfaction with the cosmetic effect of breast surgery and the quality of life scores before and half a year after the operation were compared between the two groups. Results The operation time and hospitalization time of the patients in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the intraoperative bleeding volume in the observation group was less than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The degree of effect satisfaction of the observation group was 97.5%, which was higher than that of the control group (72.5%), the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in preoperative quality of life score between the two groups (P>0.05). The quality of life score in the observation group after surgery was higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Compared with modified radical mastectomy, breast conserving surgery for patients with early breast cancer has better application effect and satisfaction. The patients have more advantages in the operation process and recovery indicators, and the quality of life of patients after operation is guaranteed, which has high application value.
