| Effect of Betahistine combined with Diphenhydramine on vertigo and its influence on hemorheology and blood lipid levels |

Abstract Objective To investigate the application value of Betahistine combined with Diphenhydramine in patients with vertigo. Methods A total of 80 vertigo patients admitted to Gaozhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2020 to January 2021 were selected as the research objects and divided into the control group and the study group according to the random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Betahistine, and the study group was treated with Betahistine combined with Diphenhydramine. The recovery of vertigo symptoms, hemorheology indexes, blood lipid levels and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there was no significant difference in vertigo symptom score between the two groups (P>0.05).After treatment, the vertigo symptom score of the study group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Before treatment, there were no significant differences in plasma viscosity(PV), whole blood viscosity (WBV), platelet adhesion rate (PAR) and hematocrit (PCV) between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the PV, WBV, PAR and PCV of the study group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Before treatment, there were no significant differences in triacylglycerol (TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and total cholesterol (TC) between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the TG, LDL-C and TC of the study group were lower than those of the control group, and the HDL-C was higher than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There were no adverse reactions in the two groups. Conclusion Betahistine combined with Diphenhydramine can effectively relieve vertigo, improve hemorheology, and restore blood lipid levels in patients with vertigo, which is safe and reliable.
