| Clinical effect of Taohuang Ointment combined with Gout Formula in the treatment of acute attack of gout in patients with peptic ulcer |

Abstract Objective To observe the effect of external application of Taohuang Ointment combined with Gout Formula in the treatment of acute attack of gout in patients with peptic ulcer. Methods A total of 50 patients with acute attack of peptic ulcer complicated with gout treated in Zhongshan Tanzhou People's Hospital from January 2021 to April 2022 were selected as research objects, they were divided into single group and combined group according to random number table method, with 25 cases in each group. The single group was treated with Gout Formula, and the combined group was treated with Gout Formula combined with Taohuang Ointment. After treatment, the therapeutic effect, the degree of pain (visual analogue scale [VAS]) and serum related indexes (C-reactive protein [CRP] and blood uric acid [UA]) of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the combined group was higher than that of the single group, the overall therapeutic effect was better than that of the single group, the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05). The VAS score of the combined group after treatment was lower than that of the single group, the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05). The expression of serum CRP and UA in the combined group after treatment were lower than those in the single group, the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05). Conclusion External application of Taohuang Ointment combined with Gout Formula can significantly improve the treatment effect of patients with peptic ulcer complicated with acute gout attack, shorten the treatment time, alleviate the pain process of gout attack, reduce the use rate of hormones and non steroidal drugs, and correct the abnormal expression of serum CRP and UA.
