Abstract Treatise on Epidemic Febrile Disease is a classic masterpiece of Doctrine of Epidemic Febrile Disease, and its concepts still guide the clinical practice of treating warm diseases. Sepsis is one of the common acute and critical diseases in clinical practice, with high morbidity and mortality and poor prognosis. The onset and evolution of sepsis are similar to febrile disease. Some provisions of Treatise on Epidemic Febrile Disease fit well with the core current treatment concepts of sepsis, which can be reflected in 6 aspects including protecting the lung, clearing heat and defensing against the evil superficially, cutting off and reversing the evolving of the disease, excreting the heat and preserving body fluid, tonifying and dredging the stomach, diffusing Yang qi and urinating the dampness, intervening urgently to prevent the complications. Learn from the past and seek the new.
