Abstract  Objective To explore the effect of kangaroo nursing on breastfeeding. Methods A total of 98 parturients admitted to our hospital from June 2018 to January 2020 were selected as the research objects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group (49 cases) and the observation group (49 cases). The control group adopted conventional nursing method, the observation group adopted kangaroo nursing method. The postpartum breastfeeding, postpartum hemorrhage and uterine involution of the two groups were compared. Results The breast-feeding score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). At 42 days postpartum, the maternal feeding method in the observation group was better than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The incidence of one finger under the umbilical cord of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the incidence of two fingers under the umbilical cord was higher than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). At 42 days postpartum, the proportion of uterus returned to normal size in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). There were no significant differences between the two groups in postpartum hemorrhage≤1 h and postpartum hemorrhage >1-2 h (P>0.05); the postpartum hemorrhage >2-24 h in the observation group was less than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Kangaroo nursing has a positive effect on breastfeeding, which can improve the score of breastfeeding, improve the rate of exclusive breastfeeding, promote the recovery of uterus, reduce the incidence of postpartum hemorrhage, and has a high application value.
