Abstract  Objective To explore the application effect of the standard interaction theory in the nursing of patients with depression. Methods A total of 60 patients with depression who were treated in our hospital from September 2018 to September 2019 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, 30 cases each group. In the control group, routine nursing was used, while in the observation group, on this basis nursing intervention based on the theory of standard interaction was adopted. The degree of depression, medication compliance, and mastery of health knowledge before and after nursing were compared between the two groups. The nursing satisfaction was investigated. Results Before nursing, the Hamilton depression scale(HAMD) score between the groups were not displayed statistically (P>0.05). After nursing, the HAMD score in the observation group was (14.47±3.22) points, lower than that of the control group of (17.24±3.48) points, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The medication compliance of the observation group was 96.67% (29/30), higher than that of the control group accounting for 70.00% (21/30) (P<0.05). The health knowledge mastery score in the observation group was (90.52±5.63) points, higher than the control group of (83.69±5.74) points, with statistical difference(P<0.05). In the observation group, the total satisfaction was 100.00% (30/30), higher than that of the control group accounting for 80.00% (24/30), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The implementation of the standard interaction theory as an intervention for patients with depression can effectively improve their depression, and increase their compliance with medication and their knowledge of health. The nursing effect is remarkable and the satisfaction is high, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
