Determination of cinnamaldehyde and trans-anethole in Sanxiang Powder by GC method |

Abstract Objective To establish the method for the determination of cinnamaldehyde and trans-anethole in Sanxiang Powder.Methods The volatile components in Sanxiang Powder were extracted by steam distillation and the contents of cinnamaldehyde and trans-anethole were determined by gas chromatography (GC).The chromatographic column was Agilent DB-WAX (30 m×0.320 mm,0.25 μm).The programmed-temperature was used.The inlet temperature was 250℃,the FID detector temperature was 300℃,the flow rate was 30 mL/min,the injection volume was 1 μL,and the split ratio was 10 ∶1..Results The cinnamaldehyde showed a good linear relationship in the concentration range of 0.002 13-0.042 56 mg/mL,with the average recovery of 99.2% and RSD of 1.50%.The trans-anethole showed a good linear relationship in the concentration range of 0.0734-0.9180 mg/mL,with the average recovery of 99.7% and RSD of 1.80%.Conclusions The method established in this study has the characteristics of good repeatability,convenience,feasibility and simplicity,and can be used for the determination of cinnamaldehyde and trans-anisole in Sanxiang Powder.
